Applying Predictive Analytics into the Real-time Management and Operation of Traffic Management Systems (TMSs)

The purpose of this project is to synthesize available tools, methods, and issues to consider in determining when it may be appropriate to integrate predictive analytics and similar tools into the real-time monitoring, detection, and prediction of travel conditions and the operation of TMSs. This project will review and synthesize available predictive analytics tools used in transportation management and operations as well as in other industries. This project will synthesize current practices, success stories and lessons learned with integrating these predictive analytics methods and tools into the real-time management and operation of TMSs.
