Configuration Management for Transportation Management Systems

This study documented the range of issues and information to consider in developing, implementing, and integrating the appropriate configuration management (CM) policies, procedures, tools, and processes into the day-to-day activities of an agency. The project developed a handbook that provides guidance on how to develop a CM program and associated plan, control processes, job and/or position requirements, training, tools, accounting system, and how to apply these throughout the life cycle of a system. This project also identified the potential CM issues to consider when integrating and sharing of information between multiple agencies and interests within a region or state.
