TMC Staffing and Scheduling for Day-to-Day Operations
One of the most complex procedures in assuring an efficient and well-prepared Transportation Management Center (TMC) shift operation is its staffing. Proper staffing will determine whether the operation meets the expectations of both the TMC's internal and external customers. While the staffing model can be useful in the short range planning of weekly schedules and daily work role assignments, more importantly, it can be used to forecast the demand for future staffing levels. The purpose of this project is to develop a software tool that will assist TMC managers in making staff workload and schedule decisions, performing future staffing forecasts, estimating timelines for personnel procurement and recruiting, and analyzing staffing costs and productivity.
